Tuesday Trend: Hippie Revolution

At least as far as Barneys is concerned. Barneys’ holiday catalog is straight from those peace-loving, bra-burning days of the 1960s. First off, how about Barry Miles Peace: 50 Years of Protest ($29.95) for your coffee table? After all, nothing says happy holidays like pictures of angry mobs and torches. Or, how about this Fazzoletti & Cane bowl by Venini ($2,960)? Pretty groovy huh? This Peace Lovin’ Piggy Bank by Billy Beads is too cute. Too bad it would require saving up 49,500 penies to buy the thing.  Last, but certainly not least, are these awesome “Peace Sign” ($250) and “Make Love Not War” ($295) pillows by Armand Diradourian.

love the post hobo! hippie chic is so in right now. another fun thing is to find some vintage woodstock black and white photos and display them in fun frames. nothing says, “make love, not war” better than that!

WOW….I was in Barneys last night at NorthPark and it is the coolest store I have ever been in. They are right in progress of an awesome sale too. The 60’s music is blasting through the stores sound system, mixed in with subtle Christmas tunes. EVERYONE needs to go check out the window displays and the stores interior displays! No one can touch the creativeness @ Barneys!

Agreed. Barneys has the most amazing window displays. Good idea Jen! Thanks for the comments peeps. Keep ‘em coming.
