John McCain or Barack Obama: Whose White House would you want to decorate?
I have been asking style gurus lately: who would you prefer as a client for the White House: John McCain or Barack Obama? Stacy Sawyer, ASID, of Stacy Sawyer Design would pick McCain. She envisions “classic elegance of course, but with a modern edge to it. They could bring such style back to the White House.” (Candy Evans gives us a glimpse of the McCain look – for at least one of their houses. ) So how about you: Whose White House would you want to decorate?
Fashion Week Day 2: Dolce and Gabbana
Something this chic and sassy could be none other than Dolce & Gabbana (the cheetah was also a huge hint). This goddess of a chair by Kartell (a.k.a. the Mademoiselle) is available at Nest for $1,000.
Fairest Mirror of them All
You must try this out - go to the Elegant Additions showroom at the International and look in the Duravit StarckX mirror. It’s almost as good as a face lift - the diffusion of the light behind stainless steel just makes you look great - kind of like the mirrors in the cosmetics department at Neimans that make you buy outrageously expensive magic youth potions. Wrinkles, blemishes - nah! Please try this out and tell me if I’m crazy. (Julie Koch agrees with me.)
