Check Out ShopTalk

Hello, good people. You know what you should do right now? Go here for ShopTalk, our new sister blog. It’s funny and smart—so show it some love by clicking on it hard and looking at it with your eyes.

Lavender and Cowboys

How much do you love this picture?   Jeannie Ralston is signing her book  “The Unlikely Lavender Queen” tomorrow, July 31 at Stephanie Anne on Lovers Lane from 5 - 7.  It is the Texas Hill Country version of “A Year in Provence” and talks about her experience of coming to Texas to run a lavender farm. (Can’t you just imagine how divine it smells?)  She had to be in Texas, her husband Rob Kendrick is a photographer for National Geographic (not too shabby) and has chronicled the life of the working cowboy in pictures.  His show is Friday, August 1 at the Afterimage Gallery.

Before & After Savannah, GA Style

My cute, cute friend from school just got her new place in Savannah, Georgia. I just thought I would share how she transformed her bare apartment into a girly, vintage-looking haven simply with hand-me-downs and garage sale finds…By the way, her Mom did the incredible paintings on the wall. More info to come on those… P.S. If you have a before and after job you want to show off, feel free to share it with me!

Over My Head

This tiny space is the bathroom attached to the bedroom formerly belonging to The Spawn.  It will now be the exchange student lair.  As you can see, I’m in over my head.  The problem is, now I’m in a time crunch.

It didn’t bother me to have my own child padding around on plywood for the last two years, but a guest?  No way.

The Trophy Husband is actively taking action, an over/under wager on IF it will be finished in time…
