Rutherford’s Unveils New Look

Tomorrow from 4-7, Rutherford’s is hosting the Dallas debut of West Coast designer/film producer/set designer Stockton Briggle. I love Rutherford’s bazaar look of fabrics, trims and tassels everywhere, but it will be nice to see a more urban cleaned up style. Robert Rutherford is our own local “prince of chintz”, and few people know fabrics better than him. I learned the fabric business from him about a hundred years ago at John Edward Hughes, before he opened the shop on Lovers Lane - rather controversial at the time because he made designer fabrics available to the public.
