Double Love: More from the Valentine’s Planning Committee

Cymbidium Valentine’s After Laura informed us of the fancy celebrations at the Ritz, Mansion, and Fairmont, and Jessica of Fusion Home Fashion’s fete, I felt amorous. So I went looking for love. Last year, my hubby and I and our two favorite couples, our parents, hopped aboard a Streetcar Named Desire. (Ignore any lingering doubts about Stanley Kowalski.) The McKinney Avenue Trolley hosts a night of fun at Sambuca, Grotto, and Breadwinners on Feb. 7. It’s a great excuse to get out of the house and score extra points for creativity.

Of course, everyone loves flowers. Cymbidium makes it easy with their three themes of deep, sweet, and unique (shown). Choose the category, or define the relationship, and then pick the perfect posies. May I suggest the Hollywood box for the overachiever, or what I would love in my bedroom, Dutch tulips and roses. As creative director Robyn Wise says, “It’s a misconception. Boys love to get flowers or a plant.” Heed the call, ladies.
