Free Dream House becomes burdensome

You are awarded a 5,500-square-foot lakefront home in an H&G sweepstakes. Too good to be true? Yes, once those property taxes and maintenance fees start adding up. Apparently many of the Home & Garden Television “Dream House” prizes have to be unloaded after reality sets in. As reported in the DMN, Don Cruz’s dream house transferred to Rick Mullins, of Dallas, who won the one-acre property on Lake Tyler for $1.3 million after a $5 million starting bid went untouched. Nice snag, Mr. Mullins.
